Designed to prevent vehicular based attacks on businesses and to block off vehicle access to pedestrianised areas, the Galvanised Single Waisted Flat Top Bollards are an ideal choice. Standing at 1m high (when installed), each bollard has been made from a high-quality steel with a zinc galvanised coating to increase its resistance to the effects of weathering and corrosion. This particular style of bollard is currently only available in a dig in variant.
Our Galvanised Single Waisted Flat Top Bollards are a modern-looking and incredibly strong vehicle management and deterrent system which can be found in towns and cities across the UK. These barriers can be deployed in front of shops and businesses, which may handle or store a lot of high value stock or equipment, to prevent thieves from gaining access using vehicles such as vans in “ram raid” style attacks.
They are also a common sight in areas which used to have through roads, such as high streets, which have subsequently become pedestrianised. Bollards can be deployed along the edge of pavements, which prevents vehicles from mounting and obstructing the pavement in order to stop or park.
Each of the Galvanised Single Waisted Flat Top Bollards is made from high quality steel which has been galvanised with a zinc coating as standard. These coatings form a protective layer which helps to protect the steel from the damaging effects of weathering and rust formation, allowing them to stay strong and keep their silver finishes for longer.
These bollards have a “waisted” section near the top, this inset band section allows high visibility tape to be applied securely, reducing the risk of it being removed or coming off in poor weather conditions. Adding this tape can help to increase the overall visibility of the bollards in low light conditions.
The Galvanised Single Waisted Flat Top Bollards are quick and simple to install, allowing for many bollards to be erected in a short space of time.
This range of bollards is currently available as a dig in variant, with each bollard having a total length of 1.5m. This allows 500mm of the bollard to be dug into the ground and held in place with the use of post mix, leaving a 1m bollard standing above ground.
As these bollards have been created as a deterrent and preventative measure against vehicle-based ram raid attacks, or to prevent access to areas which have been made into pedestrianised locations, the spacing of your bollards is important. Though there is no guidelines on exactly how far apart they should be placed, it is recommended to place bollards in such a way so that the gaps are wide enough for pedestrians and wheelchair users to gain access whilst being too narrow for vehicles to pass through. Considering these factors, it is recommended that the gaps between each bollard should be around 1.2m.
It is possible to order these bollards with a high-quality Polyester Powder Coating (PPC) which is available in a range of RAL colours. These coatings not only help to create a great looking demarcation system, but also provide the steel with an additional layer of protection against the damaging effects of weathering and rust.
In the unfortunate event of the powder coatings on your bollards becoming damaged, it is possible to restore and repair them with the use of Spray Can Touch Up Paints. These are incredibly quick and easy to use to get your bollards looking great again whilst also restoring this protective layer.
