First Fence has a range of Farm Gates in widths ranging from 3ft to 16ft, so whatever the size of your field's gateway we have something to fit it!
A Farm Gate needs to be extremely resilient as it has to withstand the rigours of the changeable weather conditions it faces and to be able to deal with accidental damage from heavy vehicles or large animals such as cattle.
The 11.0ft Wide 7-Rail Galvanised Farm Gate Leaf is constructed from galvanised steel and is a classic farm gate design that is easily recognised as it is used extensively in the farming industry. It is strongly rust-resistant due to the galvanisation but it should be routinely maintained to ensure it gives many years of solid service.
Rural theft is a big problem so a solid gate can be added to your overall security plan and help to keep your valuable assets safe and secure.
This farm gate has a very traditional design, the construction of the rails and box bracing make it structurally very sound and able to withstand the force exerted on it by large farm animals or knocks from heavy farm vehicles. Made from galvanised steel it is highly resistant to rust or corrosion which will ensure the gate has a long, useful life. When it comes to durability and reliability a galvanised steel farm gate is a popular choice among farmers.
This metal gate leaf measures 1145mm mm in height and is 11ft wide (3355mm). The top and bottom bars measure 45mm Ø x 1.5m wall thickness, and the five infill bars, or intermediate bars, measure 32mm Ø x 1.2mm wall thickness. Each gate comes with a spring-loaded Bolt Kit (including spring, cotter pin, washer and bolt) and two M20 x 150mm adjustable eye bolts with two hex nuts. Each gate leaf has two boss holes close together at the top, this is for adjustment or if you have different hook spaces when hanging your leaf.
The 7-Rail Galvanised Farm Gate is a dig in format superbly suited to rural environments with softer ground substance. To securely fasten the gate into the ground you will need post mix which is available from First Fence.
Although galvanised steel is a very hard-wearing material, it is recommended that the metal gate leaf is cleaned periodically to remove any dirt and debris with a stiff brush or water, and this will help to prevent the build up of corrosive substances. Also check the gate regularly for any signs of rust or damage that may have occurred. Take action to repair or touch up the coating to prevent corrosion and identify and repair or replace any damaged or faulty parts.
