Closed board fencing, also known as feather edge fencing, provides complete coverage and privacy. It is built by vertical boards that are securely attached to horizontal rails fixed to posts. This type of fencing is well-known for its durable build, flexibility, and ability to create a strong, private boundary.
Closed board fencing guarantees complete privacy with its tightly positioned boards that leave no gaps. Its sturdy construction also improves security by obstructing visibility and making it difficult to climb over.
When properly constructed and maintained, closed board fencing is highly durable and capable of withstanding diverse weather conditions. Its simple, streamlined design offers versatility, making it suitable for a variety of applications such as residential boundaries, garden enclosures, commercial and industrial perimeters, and agricultural fencing.
Traditionally made from timber, this fencing system now offers eco-friendly options like recycled plastic, making it suitable for both DIYers and professionals.
First Fence’s recycled plastic fencing is made from Plaswood, a material derived from recycled materials. This durable and innovative material mimics the appearance of real wood but is built to withstand harsh weather, including extreme temperatures, UV rays, and moisture. Recycled plastic fencing, unlike natural wood, won't rot, warp, splinter, or attract insects. Both the product and its raw materials are rigorously tested by independent experts to ensure high quality, while the recycling process turns waste into sustainable new materials.
The 1.4m recycled plastic pale for closed board fencing is 1400mm high by 30mm x 100mm. The pales come in black and brown to coordinate with the other system components and can be easily secured using twin flight, parallel thread, coarse pitch screws, similar to those used for wooden particle boards or hi-low screws. Please be aware that fixings are not included with this product.
Once the posts and horizontal rails are in place, forming the framework, the pales are attached. You will need 30 pales for each 3.1m bay (28 standard and 2 centre pales) to form the recognisable closed board fence look.
This is a dig-in fencing system and requires one bag of post mix per post. It is recommended that posts are installed at 1.5m (+/- 50mm) post centre intervals.
Also available within the closed board fencing line are posts, horizontal rails, and centre pales.
Recycled plastic closed board fencing is customisable and adaptable, enabling you to create a fencing run of any length. It is perfect for those seeking a low-maintenance, eco-friendly, and durable option that blends the strength and longevity of plastic with the visual charm of wood.
