Oxford LowPro Narrow Trench Cover 1.0m x 20mm

Developed for Project Gigabit which was aimed at delivering fast, reliable digital connection to the whole country, these narrow trench covers are perfect for fibre optic cable installation work which cuts across pavements.

When they are placed over the dug out trench they make it safe for pedestrians to continue using the paths. The LowPro Narrow Trench Cover is manufactured from recycled plastic which grips the asphalt to minimise movement and is non-slip in wet and dry conditions therefore providing a secure surface for both vehicular and pedestrian traffic. The recycled material is extremely robust and can support heavy loads.

This kind of narrow cover plate would be useful for all kinds of service work that creates a slender work trench, for example water service pipe installation or maintenance. It can be used with a hole depth from 20mm to 1000mm and slots securely into the trench. It can cover 75mm to 100mm wide trenches. Risk assessments should be carried out to ensure the usage is appropriate for the situation.

The Oxford LowPro Narrow Trench Cover measures 1.0m in length, 250mm in height and has an overall height of 33mm including the section that fits into the trench. Each cover has Hi-Vis yellow inserts to ensure safety during the day and night.

Each 1.0m section bolts securely to another and comes with an M6 x 25mm button head screw, M6 nyloc locknut and M6 penny washer. Oxford Trench Covers that have reached the end of their useful life can be returned to Oxford Plastics for recycling.

The LowPros slot together, then the bolt is inserted in the washer from the top side through the cover, then the second washer is secured underneath and then the nyloc nut and bolt are tightened.
