New Armco Beams
Introducing a new Armco Beam. This new Armco Beam is 3504mm long in total and 310mm high, when set up the Armco beam will have an overlap of 150mm on each side meaning that it has an overall effective length of 3200mm. The Beam is 1.5mm thick and is cold rolled so that even though it is thinner it is still very strong.Made from high-quality corrugated steel and is designed to help prevent damage that may occur as a result of a vehicle crashing into it. Theses off-road Armco Beams are ideal for car parks, loading bays and warehouses.The beam has a Magnelis coating making it corrosion resistant and is three times better than galvanized steel. We also offer a variety of powder coating options in any standard RAL colour for Armco Beams on top of our Magnelis Coating. Not only does this make your beam look more attractive but it also adds another layer of protection.
Difference Between 1.5mm and 3.0mm Beams
The Main Difference is that the new beam is a lot thinner but is just as strong and it also has a new coating making it more resistant to corrosion.
What is Magnelis Coating?
Magnelis is an exceptional metallic coating providing protection against corrosion. Magnelis is a Cost-effective alternative to post galvanized steel and is three times better at protecting against corrosion then galvanized steel. Magnelis provides an unprecedented level of surface and cut-edge protection, even in the most hostile environments. Magnelis is produced on a classic hot-dip galvanizing line, but the molten bath has a unique chemical composition including zinc, 3.5% aluminium, and 3% magnesium and is environmentally friendly.Magnelis has a self-healing effect that ensures the protection of uncoated edges, scratches and perforations. When exposed, Magnelis forms a very dense zinc-based protective film, unlike galvanized where the film is very porous. This dense film is also formed on edges, welds, perforations and scratches. It is almost impossible for the environment to penetrate this film. As a result, Magnelis provides perfect protection of the whole structure, even on the uncoated edges, scratches and perforations.
